Committees in Action

The Government Relations Committee

This committee is charged with developing and maintaining productive relationships with government entities, including the NIH, the FDA, and other legislative bodies.  The intent is to educate these entities regarding the current status and future potential of gene and cell therapies, to convey the need for enhanced funding, and to work with the FDA towards an optimized regulatory environment for gene and cell therapies. This committee will also inform policy and lawmakers about the opportunities that accompany the innovative science and clinical data that are generated by the Society’s members and stakeholders, which is anticipated to increase governmental support and access to resources.
