The fourth in a series of five educational webinars from ASGCT and the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD), is now available to watch for free.

This session, held on Nov. 20, covered how patients are identified as candidates for gene therapy, who may be on a gene therapy treatment team, how long the procedure takes, and what to expect during recovery and longer term follow up. Participants heard from ASGCT Members Jerry Mendell, M.D., who has focused his clinical work on neuromuscular diseases for the past five decades; and Barry Byrne, M.D., Ph.D., a pediatric cardiologist who has focused on conditions that lead to skeletal muscle weakness and abnormalities in heart and respiratory function.
