Learn About Blood Cancers and CAR T-Cell Therapy

ASGCT Staff - December 03, 2019

CAR T-cell therapy is a treatment approach that helps the immune system recognize cancer cells as a threat and eliminate them.

The American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT) released the final disease-specific resources from its Patient Education program for 2019, this time focusing on using CAR T-cell therapy to treat blood cancers.

The resources on CAR T-cell therapy are now available on ASGCT.org. CAR T-cell therapy is a treatment approach for blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma that modifies T cells, a type of immune system cell, so that they have the ability to recognize and kill cancer cells. You can learn more about CAR T-cell therapy here.

The information on CAR T-cell therapy is the final release from the second round of material in ASGCT’s Patient Education program. ASGCT has been releasing new resources weekly on the Patient Education portal. Read and watch what we have released so far, and let us know what you think of this second batch of resources.
