Types of Membership
ASGCT is an inclusive organization that seeks a broad membership that complies with the highest standards of scientific, professional and ethical conduct.
Active Members
Individuals participating in any discipline important to gene therapy, cell therapy, or manufacturing technologies for gene and cell delivery, as evidenced by work in the field, are eligible for Active Membership. Active Members shall pay dues and have all privileges of the Society including, but not limited to, the right to vote, serve on committees, hold office, and serve on the Board of Directors. Active Members also receive a subscription to Molecular Therapy and discount registration fees for the ASGCT Annual Meeting and other ASGCT sponsored programs. The current cost of active membership is $220.00 USD annually.
Associate Members
The American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy Associate Membership is designed for individuals who are Graduate Students or Postdoctoral Fellows in gene and cell therapy research programs. Associate Members are encouraged to submit abstracts to the Annual Meeting. The current cost of associate membership is $75.00 USD annually.
Associate members do NOT receive a subscription to Molecular Therapy but do receive reduced registration fees to the Annual Meeting of the Society and are eligible to compete for ASGCT travel awards. Associate Members may purchase a subscription to the Society's Journal for $95.00, or may sign up for online access of the Journal for $35.00 USD annually.
Associate Members may renew their dues annually at the reduced Associate Member rate for up to four years. Extension of this period will require new documentation of the graduate student or postdoctoral fellow status. If such documentation is not received at the executive office at the end of the four-year period, membership will be automatically converted to the Society's Active Member status.
Emeritus Members
Any Active Member of the Society may, upon attaining age sixty-five (65), request that his or her membership status be transitioned to Emeritus Membership by making written application to the Secretary of the Society. Emeritus status must be approved by the Board of Directors.
Emeritus members shall have all privileges of Active Members except that they shall not have the right to vote, to hold office or serve on the Board of Directors. Emeritus Members shall pay no membership dues. Emeritus Members may register for the Annual Meeting at member rates and may purchase a subscription to the Society's Journal for $95.00, or may sign up for online access of the Journal for $35.00 annually.
