Types of Membership

ASGCT is an inclusive organization that seeks a broad membership that complies with the highest standards of scientific, professional and ethical conduct.

Members

Individuals participating in any discipline important to gene therapy, cell therapy, or manufacturing technologies for gene and cell delivery, as evidenced by work in the field, are eligible for Membership. Members shall pay dues and have all privileges of the Society including, but not limited to, the right to vote, serve on committees, hold office, and serve on the Board of Directors. Members also receive a subscription to Molecular Therapy and discount registration fees for the ASGCT Annual Meeting and other ASGCT sponsored programs. The current cost of membership is $220.00 USD annually. A portion of the dues goes towards the subscription to Molecular Therapy.

Associate Members

The American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy Associate Membership is designed for individuals who are postdoctoral fellows, undergraduate or graduate students, laboratory assistants, technicians, managers, and other clerical laboratory staff in gene and cell therapy research programs.  Associate Members are encouraged to submit abstracts to the Annual Meeting.  The current cost of Associate Membership is $75.00 USD annually.

Associate Members do NOT receive a subscription to Molecular Therapy, but do receive reduced registration fees to the Annual Meeting of the Society and are eligible to compete for ASGCT travel awards.  Associate Members may sign up for online access to the Journal for $70.00 USD annually, or may purchase a print subscription plus online access to the Journal for $95.00 USD annually.

Associate Members may renew their dues annually at the reduced Associate Member rate for up to four years.  Extension of this period will require new documentation for the postdoctoral fellow, undergraduate or graduate student, laboratory assistant, technician, manager, and other clerical laboratory staff to verify their status.  If such documentation is not received at the executive office at the end of the four-year period, membership will be automatically converted to the Society’s Member status.

Transitional Membership

Individuals participating in any discipline important to gene therapy, cell therapy, or manufacturing technologies for gene and cell delivery, as evidenced by work in the field, but are in the early stages of the careers who are looking to transition to Membership may opt for Transitional Membership for a maximum of two years. Transitional Membership status will offer the same privileges and member benefits as Members, but at a reduced dues rate of $110.00 USD annually. A portion of the dues goes towards the subscription to Molecular Therapy.
