MILWAUKEE, WI - The American Society for Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT) and the Trans-NIH Gene Therapy Group have partnered to host the first ever NIH Gene Therapy Symposium at the Natcher Conference Facility on the NIH campus.
The NIH Gene Therapy Symposium will focus on three main topics:
“In the last few years we have seen a substantial resurgence and clinical advances in gene and cell therapy,” said Barrie Carter, PhD, ASGCT Past President. “Following meetings between the ASGCT Leadership and most of the NIH Institute Directors, this Symposium was developed to assess the state of the field, and to discuss how best to capitalize on these initial successes in moving forward efficiently in additional highly promising areas."
The Symposium is scheduled for all day Monday, September 26 through the early afternoon of Tuesday, September 27, 2011. The Symposium is open to the media, the public, and the NIH community. Registration is waived for members of the media and the NIH community.
Registration and program information are available on the ASGCT website, www.asgct.org. Contact the ASGCT Executive Office with questions (info@asgct.org).
