Become A Member

Join the gene and cell therapy community.  ASGCT is an inclusive organization that seeks a broad membership who complies with the highest standards of scientific, professional and ethical conduct. The ASGCT membership includes researchers and clinicians from academia and bio-industry, representatives from foundations and patient advocacy groups as well as students and post-doctoral fellows with an interest in the gene and cell therapy field.

To apply for ASGCT membership, you may apply online or download a Membership Application. Notification of membership status is received within 5 days.

Please contact the ASGCT office with any questions regarding the application process. Individuals wishing to pay via wire transfer should contact the ASGCT office for the Society’s bank information.

Types of Membership

Active Members
Individuals who have manifested an interest in any discipline important to gene therapy, cell therapy, or manufacturing technologies for gene and cell delivery, as evidenced by work in the field, are eligible for Active Membership. Active Members include researchers and clinicians from academia and bio-industry as well as representatives from foundations and patient advocacy groups. By joining the Society, Active Members are eligible to serve on Committees, run for elected offices, vote in elections, and participate in program planning for future ASGCT programs.

Transitional Membership
Individuals participating in any discipline important to gene therapy, cell therapy, or manufacturing technologies for gene and cell delivery, as evidenced by work in the field, but are in the early stages of the careers who are looking to transition to Active Membership may opt for Transitional Membership for a maximum of two years. Transitional Membership status will offer the same privileges and member benefits as Active Members, but at a reduced dues rate of $110.00 USD annually. A portion of the dues goes towards the subscription to Molecular Therapy.

Reduced Dues Discount
Active Members and Associate Members residing in a country with a developing economy are eligible for a reduced dues discount.  Active Members dues are reduced to $75.00 USD annually, and Associate Members dues are reduced to $25.00 USD annually.

Emeritus Members
Emeritus Members are ASGCT Active Members who have met certain requirements set out in the ASGCT Bylaws. ASGCT Members interested in becoming Emeritus Members should contact the ASGCT office for more information
