AMERICAN SOCIETY OF GENE & CELL THERAPY

Mission and Goals
The American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT) is a professional non-profit medical and scientific organization dedicated to the understanding, development and application of genetic and cellular therapies and the promotion of professional and public education in the field. ASGCT is the largest medical professional organization representing researchers and scientists dedicated to discovering new gene and cell therapies. ASGCT was established in 1996, and has grown to 2,000 members from around the world.

The Society's goals are to:

  • Promote Research, Development and Application of Genetic and Cellular Therapies to a Wide Variety of Human Diseases
  • Exchange Information and Promote Education Among Professionals and the Public Through the Society's Annual Meetings, the ASGCT Journal, Molecular Therapy, and Interactions with Scientific, Medical, and Regulatory Communities

The ASGCT Clinical Trials Training Course and 13th Annual Meeting will serve as comprehensive forums to achieve these goals.

DATES
The 2010 Clinical Trial Training Course will be held from the afternoon of Monday, May 17 through the evening of Tuesday, May 18. The ASGCT 13th Annual Meeting will begin on the morning of Wednesday, May 19 and continue through the evening of Saturday, May 22, 2010. Exhibits will be open Wednesday, May 19 through Friday, May 21.

MATERIALS DISTRIBUTION
Please refrain from distributing promotional materials.

CAMERA/RECORDING POLICY
It is the policy of ASGCT that no cameras are permitted in the meeting sessions, exhibit hall, or poster sessions; except a professional photographer hired by ASGCT. Please refrain from taking any photos in those locations. Audio and/or videotaping is strictly prohibited.

LOCATION

  • The Clinical Trials Training Course and 13th Annual Meeting will be held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, 2660 Woodley Road NW, Washington, D.C. 20008, USA
  • Exhibits and Posters will take place in Exhibit Hall C - Exhibition Level.
  • Registration will be located in the Atrium, just outside Exhibit Hall C - Exhibition Level.

 

Registration Information

To register for the Clinical Trials Training Course and 13th Annual Meeting, please complete the registration form. Registration fees increase after April 26, 2010.

The Training Course registration fee includes access to the entire course; morning and afternoon coffee breaks; and enduring course materials.

The Annual Meeting registration fee includes access to exhibit and poster halls, education sessions, scientific symposia, plenary sessions, and corporate symposia; registration bag and materials; Abstracts-on-DiscTM; morning coffee breaks; receptions in exhibit hall; access to Internet stations; and use of the ASGCT Job Information Exchange.

Please Note: Submitting an abstract does not register you for the training course or meeting.

CME FEE

CANCELLATION REFUND POLICY
Refund requests should be submitted in writing to the ASGCT Executive Office prior to May 8, 2010. A $35 processing fee will be charged for all refunds. We regret that refunds cannot be allowed for requests postmarked or received after May 7, 2010.

REGISTRATION DESK
Annual Meeting name badges and final programs will be distributed at the registration desk located in the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. The registration desk will be open during the following hours:

Tuesday, May 18 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Wednesday, May 19 7:00 am - 8:00 pm
Thursday, May 20 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
Friday, May 21 7:30 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday, May 22 7:30 am - 5:00 pm

Training Course materials and name badges will be distributed outside the meeting room, Maryland ABC, on Monday, May 17.

SPECIAL ACCESSIBILITY NEEDS
If you require special accommodations under the ADA in order to fully participate in the meeting or the course, please send a written description of your needs along with your registration form. Please notify us of your needs by May 7, 2010.

ASGCT JOB BANK
At the 13th Annual Meeting, there will be a forum for academic institutions and companies to promote open positions to meeting attendees. If you have open positions, please bring multiple copies of your job posting to the meeting. Similarly, if you are seeking a job, please bring multiple copies of your résumé to submit. ASGCT will not take responsibility for résumés sent to the ASGCT office in response to a job posting. If you would like more information about this service, please contact Erin Hankey at ehankey@asgct.org. The Job exchange area will be located inside the Exhibit Hall.

INTERNET KIOSK POLICY
Internet access will be available to meeting attendees in the Exhibit Hall. Limited computer stations will be provided.

TRAINEE TRAVEL GRANTS
ASGCT is offering sixty travel grants to the Annual Meeting to postdoctoral fellows and graduate students that are members of ASGCT. The grants will be based on the highest abstract scores, as determined by the ASGCT Abstract Review Committee. Please note: Meeting registration fees are non-reimbursable; travel grant recipients must register for the meeting and pay the registration fees.

Members of the working media may register without charge for the 13th Annual Meeting. For more information, or to pre-register for the meeting as a member of the media, please visit the Press section of the Annual Meeting home page

MEET-THE-INVESTIGATOR SESSIONS
(Tickets Required)
The Meet-the-Investigator sessions are designed to provide an opportunity for participants to interact with experts and discuss topics related to their research. Sessions will begin promptly and a lunch will be served during the program, which will last for approximately one hour.

The Meet-the-Investigator sessions scheduled at the 13th Annual Meeting require tickets for admittance, which are not included in the regular registration fees. To confirm your attendance at a particular session, please complete the ASGCT registration form. Fees for these tickets should be added to your registration total. Each ticket is $30. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Please Note: Tickets for the Meet-the-Investigator sessions are limited to 25 participants. You must have a ticket to gain entrance to a session. Ushers will be collecting tickets at the door of each session.
