The incoming members of the Board of Directors will assume their roles on June 1, 2024.

The American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT) is pleased to announce the election of four new members of the Board of Directors, all of whom will take office on June 1, 2024. The distinguished additions to the Society's leadership team are leading experts and pioneers in the field dedicated to advancing cell and gene therapies.

Matthew H. Porteus, MD, PhD, of Stanford University will serve as Vice President, ascending through the presidential succession before serving as ASGCT President in 2026-2027. Joining him are Kimberly Goodspeed, MD, of UT Southwestern Medical Center; Claire Booth, MBSS, PhD, of UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health; and Miguel Sena-Estevez, PhD, of UMass Chan Medical School.

The new Board members will hit the ground running at the ASGCT 27th Annual Meeting, taking place May 7-11 in Baltimore and online. The premier event in cell and gene therapy, the Annual Meeting gathers scientists professionals, researchers, and stakeholders to explore the latest breakthroughs and discuss key challenges in translating gene and cell therapy research into clinical practice.

Meeting registrants can look forward to an extensive scientific program featuring nearly 2,500 invited speakers, oral presentations, and posters across the world of CGT. All in-person and virtual attendees will gain 30 days of on-demand access following the live event.
